Israel “Izzy” Alatriste has been named new Head Coach for Girls Inc. Gymnastics. A coach for the gymnastics program for the past five years, Izzy is a familiar face around the gym. He has an extensive competitive gymnastics background as a member of Mexico’s Junior National and National Gymnastics Teams, and he received a full-ride scholarship to UC Santa Barbara for men’s gymnastics.
Izzy will transition into his new role during the month of April, alongside current Head Coach Shelby Hallford, who is leaving Girls Inc. Gymnastics after nine years of coaching to pursue a career in finance. Hallford’s dedication helped grow the size of the competitive team from five girls to 45 girls, competing at levels 3-9.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to be the Head Coach at Girls Inc.,” says Izzy. “I believe I can bring a lot of experience and my love for the sport. I look forward to building upon the foundation that Shelby and our coaches have set.”
Izzy brings his signature calm and collected coaching style to the Gym and his leadership will help the recreation and competitive team programs continue to grow and thrive.
