The Girls Inc. Gymnastics team competed at the Southern California state championships in November, finishing the season with their best meet performance overall as a team. Four gymnasts (Levels 3-5) had top 3 finishes: 1st place on Balance Beam, (2) 2nd places on Floor, 3rd place on the Uneven Bars. Additionally, one gymnast placed 2nd in the All-Around. Banners honoring these gymnasts’ top performances will soon hang in the Girls Inc. gym.
The Gymnastics program reached another milestone as the 2018 competitive season comes to an end: nearly half of the team is competing at a Level 6 or above. This means the program is now functioning with two, full capacity, optional groups. At these high levels, the team gymnasts have unique routines choreographed and created for them on each event.
Two team Level 9 gymnasts are also eligible to qualify for the Western National Championships, hosted in Washington in May, 2019.
The 2019 competition season kicks off in January at UC Santa Barbara. The team will compete at the local, state, and regional (NV, UT, AZ, CA) levels through the end of April. Learn more about Girls Inc. Gymnastics or call 805-963-4492.
