Rosalinda Ruiz to Lead Remote and Virtual Programming

SHARE

This fall, to meet the ever-changing challenges of program delivery during the pandemic, Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara created the new position of Remote and Virtual Programming Coordinator to develop, implement, and manage non center-based alternative programming for girls in grades TK-6.

Congratulations to Rosa for stepping into this new role, where she will help Girls Inc. expand service to girls and families for whom in-person programming is not accessible both during the pandemic and beyond.

The first virtual program series, Express Yourself, kicks off in December featuring different female artists from around the globe. Girls will explore a range of materials and mediums like ink, tempera, watercolors and colored pencils while developing an art-specific vocabulary. A new series of virtual classes will be offered each month.

Rosa has previously served as a facilitator and assistant center director. for Girls Inc. We are excited to watch virtual programming grow in scope and influence under Rosa’s leadership and creativity.

I am grateful for the opportunity given to really shape and mold this new virtual program. I want the girls to continue using their voices and advocating for themselves and their community. I want to remind them that they are not alone during these times.
