Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara welcomes Katie Pearson to the role of development officer. In her role, Katie will initiate and implement Girls Inc.’s special event fundraising, donor appreciation and cultivation events, and other fundraising initiatives including securing sponsorships and supporting major gifts.
Katie brings fundraising and event experience to Girls Inc., most recently as event coordinator for Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. where she managed 125 annual events, fundraisers, and festivals and oversaw donations to the company.
“I am truly thrilled to join the Girls Inc. team,” says Pearson. “Most of my career has been in nonprofit fundraising and I look forward to continuing it with such a valued community organization that advances the rights and opportunities for girls.”
As assistant director at the Wilding Museum of Art & Nature, Katie oversaw fundraising and appeals. Prior to joining Wilding, Katie served as the membership coordinator and later the annual fund manager for the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. There, she specialized in donor cultivation and stewardship and drove an increase in revenue and responses from direct mail appeals resulting in the highest amount raised to date.
