New York, NY (July 9, 2018) — Girls Inc. President & CEO Judy Vredenburgh will retire in April 2019, after the close of the organization’s fiscal year and nine successful years as CEO.
Vredenburgh joined Girls Inc. in 2010 in the aftermath of the recession. Under her leadership, Girls Inc. has grown into a high impact and prospering network serving over 156,000 girls annually. The national board and staff team are first rate and high functioning, the Girls Inc. balance sheet is strong, and an ambitious and clear strategic plan guides the organization through 2020.
“For nearly a decade, Judy has led Girls Inc. through major accomplishment and growth. Her passion and dedication to the mission coupled with strong management talent have propelled Girls Inc. as a leader in the girl-serving space. The Board of Directors, in partnership with Judy, has long prepared for leadership succession and a seamless transition,” said Melanie Gray, Girls Inc. Board Chair.
The organization will launch a national search effort for its next CEO. The search committee will be chaired by Tony Bucci, Vice Chair of the Girls Inc. Board of Directors.
“Judy will not rest until her last day as CEO. She is fully committed to achieving this year’s goals including growing the number of girls served with measurable impact and launching a multi-year advocacy campaign,” added Gray.
