Our Program

Cocktail attire. Red encouraged.

Join us for a special evening with our special guest host, KEYT anchor and Emmy-award winning journalist Beth Farnsworth. Beth will lead a lively panel conversation about the impact of Girls Inc. with current and former Girls Inc. girls. She was recently honored as a 2019 Women of Achievement by the Association for Women in Communication for her dedication to telling powerful human interest stories that shape our community.

Our Panelists:

Captain Marylinda Arroyo was raised in Santa Barbara and attended Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara. In 2015, Captain Arroyo became the first female Sworn Officer in the 115-year history of the Santa Barbara Police Department to be promoted to management rank, Lieutenant. She has received numerous commendations and awards including the prestigious Thomas H. Guerry Award for Outstanding Conflict Resolution and the Chief’s Meritorious Award for assisting in saving the life of a fellow Officer.

Marsha Kotlyar was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and came to Girls Inc. when she moved to Santa Barbara at age 6. It is at Girls Inc. where Marsha learned how to speak English and how to become a leader. Today, Marsha is a top selling Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate agent, specializing in the acquisition, marketing, and sale of fine homes, beach properties and estates in Santa Barbara County. She is ranked #4 agent among all Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate agents nationwide.

Roz has been coming to Girls Inc. since she was in kindergarten. Now a 10th grader at San Marcos High School, Roz currently volunteers biweekly in our Boost! Tutoring Program, where she mentors 1st and 2nd graders after school at our Goleta Valley Center. Roz attributes her desire to pursue personal growth and tackle challenges to her time at Girls Inc.

Fiona is our youngest panelist, but this 5th grader is no stranger to the stage. You may remember Fiona reciting the Girls Inc. Girls’ Bill of Rights at our 2016 Celebration Luncheon.
